Obama Steals Material
From Political Satirist
Durst Offers One-liners in Exchange for Coveted Vice-presidential Powers
During presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s South Carolina victory speech, he exclaimed, “It's about whether we settle for the same divisions and distractions and drama that passes for politics today or whether we reach for a politics of common sense.”
Common sense?
For years, Will Durst has been preaching that Americans need to take a “common sense” approach to politics one that isn’t red or blue, but truly bipartisan. Durst even has a new book coming out titled The All-American Sport of Bipartisan Bashing: Common Sense Rantings From a Raging Moderate.
And here all along Durst was using the concept just to get a laugh.
Now the liberal left and the conservative right can finally agree on something. Air America Radio calls Durst “one of the greatest commentators of all things political,” and Fox News Radio hails him as “a great political satirist! One of the funniest guys around!”
